Lancaster Yarn Shop offers a variety of classes and FREE workshops for fiber artists of all skill levels, from Absolute Beginner to Extremely Accomplished. The emphasis is on celebrating the tradition of knitting and handwork (and learning cool new stuff!) in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Classes and Free Workshops are held at the Yarn Shop in our beautiful upstairs studio at 3519 Old Philadelphia Pike in Intercourse, Lancaster County, PA. (HERE for directions). There is plenty of free parking, and we are just steps from the terrific restaurants and great shopping at Kitchen Kettle Village. Classes are taught by our experienced and knowledgeable instructors and classified by skill level.

Project:  Easy Cable Headband by Subversive Knitting
Date:  Tuesday, March 15, 2011
Time:  9:30a - 11:30a




An introduction to the absolute basics of knitting cables.  We'll cast on & begin knitting a simple cabled headband.  Learn everything you need to make this  beautiful piece.  

Skill Level: Intermediate.
Skills Required: Basic knitting skills a must.
Techniques Taught: Cable knitting, how to read cable charts & patterns.
Materials:  Worsted weight wool yarn, US #7 needles, pattern.  Please print & bring your own copy of the pattern here.


This workshop is suitable for Intermediate Knitters. Intermediate Knitters are Current Knitters who know the basics:  long-tail cast-on, knit, purl, and bind off.  Develop your skills and learn shaping, new patterns, and cool techniques that will move your knitting forward!  These are project oriented classes, let's make something beautiful!
