Welcome to Lancaster Yarn Shop's Class & Workshop Blog!

Lancaster Yarn Shop offers a variety of classes and FREE workshops for fiber artists of all skill levels, from Absolute Beginner to Extremely Accomplished. The emphasis is on celebrating the tradition of knitting and handwork (and learning cool new stuff!) in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Classes and Free Workshops are held at the Yarn Shop in our beautiful upstairs studio at 3519 Old Philadelphia Pike in Intercourse, Lancaster County, PA. (HERE for directions). There is plenty of free parking, and we are just steps from the terrific restaurants and great shopping at Kitchen Kettle Village. Classes are taught by our experienced and knowledgeable instructors and classified by skill level.

Join us on Tuesday May 3rd for a wonderful Baby Hat Workshop! 

Project:  Sweet Norwegian Baby Hat
Date:  Tuesday,  May 3
Time:  9:30am - 12:30pm
My favorite baby hat--ever!  Featuring large chevron shaping and worked in a fingering weight, there are more than 3,000 projects on Ravelry.   This sweet hat knits up beautifully in variegated or hand painted sock yarn. 

Skill Level: Intermediate.
Skills Required: Comfortable with basic knitting, able to work in the round on dpns.
Techniques Taught: Chevron shaping, , the knit stitch & how to bind off.
Materials:  50 grams fingering weight yarn,

This workshop is suitable for Intermediate Knitters.  Intermediate Knitters are Current Knitters who know the basics:  long-tail cast-on, knit, purl, and bind off.  Experience working with double-pointed needles is a plus! We’ll help you choose your materials and tools, and teach you to cast on, knit, purl, and cast off.
