Lancaster Yarn Shop offers a variety of classes and FREE workshops for fiber artists of all skill levels, from Absolute Beginner to Extremely Accomplished. The emphasis is on celebrating the tradition of knitting and handwork (and learning cool new stuff!) in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Classes and Free Workshops are held at the Yarn Shop in our beautiful upstairs studio at 3519 Old Philadelphia Pike in Intercourse, Lancaster County, PA. (HERE for directions). There is plenty of free parking, and we are just steps from the terrific restaurants and great shopping at Kitchen Kettle Village. Classes are taught by our experienced and knowledgeable instructors and classified by skill level.

Sock Knitter's Seminar: Going Beyond the Basics with Carol Sulcoski!

Skill Level: Intermediate. You MUST know how to cast on, knit, purl, increase & decrease.  Prior sock knitting experience required.
Instructor:  Carol Sulcoski
Dates:  Saturday, November 17th.
Time:   10:00 - 12:00, 12:30 -1:30 (with a 30 minute break)
Tuition:  $50.00 includes a signed copy of the book

Premiering at VK Live this Fall, Socknitter's Seminar:  Going Beyond the Basics  comes to Lancaster Yarn Shop on Saturday, November 17th.    

You know the basics: now take your sock knitting to the next level. In this class, we'll cover techniques and tricks for making your socks spectacular, including adjusting patterns for fit; tips for working with self-patterning and handpainted yarns; different toe and heel styles; mastering kitchener stitch (grafting); and more. Students are expected to be familiar with the basics of sock knitting and are encouraged to ask questions they may have. 

We'll meet one time for 3 hours.

Carol Sulcoski is the author of Knitting Socks With Handpainted Yarns, co-author of Knit So Fine,and her third book –Sock Yarn Studio, patterns using sock yarn for items other than socks –  which will be available at LYS this fall.   Technical articles published frequently in Vogue Knitting.  Patterns have been published in Vogue Knitting, KnitScene, KnitSimple,  Knitty.com and various other publications. She also teaches at Vogue Knitting:  Live; Stitches; and local yarn shops.
