Welcome to Lancaster Yarn Shop's Class & Workshop Blog!

Lancaster Yarn Shop offers a variety of classes and FREE workshops for fiber artists of all skill levels, from Absolute Beginner to Extremely Accomplished. The emphasis is on celebrating the tradition of knitting and handwork (and learning cool new stuff!) in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Classes and Free Workshops are held at the Yarn Shop in our beautiful upstairs studio at 3519 Old Philadelphia Pike in Intercourse, Lancaster County, PA. (HERE for directions). There is plenty of free parking, and we are just steps from the terrific restaurants and great shopping at Kitchen Kettle Village. Classes are taught by our experienced and knowledgeable instructors and classified by skill level.

Join us on Tuesday, March 12th for a really fun Knitting Workshop!  A friendly introduction to a basic of knitting--the garter stitch! Learn everything you need to make this elegant, modern baby blanket.  Learn the basics of picking up stitches, too!

Skill Level: Intermediate Beginner. 
Skills Required: Basic Knitting
Techniques Taught:  Long-tail cast on, the knit stitch, picking up stitches & how to bind off. 
Materials:  DK weight wool yarn, US #6 needles.  Students need to bring their own copy of the pattern.

This workshop is suitable for Intermediate Knitters. Intermediate Knitters are Current Knitters who know the basics:  long-tail cast-on, knit, purl, and bind off.  Develop your skills and learn shaping, new patterns, and cool techniques that will move your knitting forward!  These are project oriented classes, let's make something beautiful!
