Welcome to Lancaster Yarn Shop's Class & Workshop Blog!

Lancaster Yarn Shop offers a variety of classes and FREE workshops for fiber artists of all skill levels, from Absolute Beginner to Extremely Accomplished. The emphasis is on celebrating the tradition of knitting and handwork (and learning cool new stuff!) in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Classes and Free Workshops are held at the Yarn Shop in our beautiful upstairs studio at 3519 Old Philadelphia Pike in Intercourse, Lancaster County, PA. (HERE for directions). There is plenty of free parking, and we are just steps from the terrific restaurants and great shopping at Kitchen Kettle Village. Classes are taught by our experienced and knowledgeable instructors and classified by skill level.

Tuesday, March 27th: Saartje's Booties

Announcing another Free Knitting Workshop! Join us on Tuesday, March 27th for another Free Knitting Workshop.  We'll cast on and learn the basics of knitting for a baby or toddler with the very popular Saartje's Booties pattern.  These go pretty quickly, but you will need to do a fair amount of knitting on your own after the workshop.

Time:  9:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate.
Skills Required: You must have a basic understanding of most aspects of knitting. Also, willingness to knit something SO DARN CUTE you might just find yourself making more and more of them!
Techniques Taught:  Basic technique, garter stitch, shaping & seaming.
Materials:  100- 200 yards fingering weight yarn,  one set US#2 needles. Please download and bring your own copy of the pattern here.
