Welcome to Lancaster Yarn Shop's Class & Workshop Blog!

Lancaster Yarn Shop offers a variety of classes and FREE workshops for fiber artists of all skill levels, from Absolute Beginner to Extremely Accomplished. The emphasis is on celebrating the tradition of knitting and handwork (and learning cool new stuff!) in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Classes and Free Workshops are held at the Yarn Shop in our beautiful upstairs studio at 3519 Old Philadelphia Pike in Intercourse, Lancaster County, PA. (HERE for directions). There is plenty of free parking, and we are just steps from the terrific restaurants and great shopping at Kitchen Kettle Village. Classes are taught by our experienced and knowledgeable instructors and classified by skill level.

Announcing another FREE Knitting Workshop! Join us on Saturday, April 16th for a Knitted Toy Workshop!  Learn the basics of knitting a precious little soft toy with the Little Birds  pattern from Duo Fiberworks.

Welcome Spring! Get playful with your handwork and increase your knitting skills with this fun pattern.  Please print your own pattern from the Duo Fiberworks site.   Learn to increase, decrease & kitchener.  Kits available include yarn, stuffing, & materials for eyes.
 
Skill Level: Intermediate 
Skills Required: Complete understanding of knitting, purling.
Pattern Requirements: US #3 double pointed needles

Just in time for Spring!  These little birds would look sweet in your May Day basket or perched among a bunch of forsythia!
